About Cell Team

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)

In the early church, people did not only meet in temples to fellowship but also, they met in homes of the brethren to share their burdens and joy which fostered love amongst themselves and the Lord caused an increase in their numbers through this effective fellowshipping (Acts 2:46-47). Following the large numbers of the union GHAMSU-KNUST Local where it is difficult to identify every single individual, the cells (family) system was established in 2014 to put members in smaller groups to ensure effective monitoring, shepherding and growth of members in the union.

Just as the bible class system in the mother church, the members of the union are grouped into smaller units of a maximum of ten (10) – fifteen (15) members basically based on your residential location and each group is headed by a cell leader appointed by the leaders of the Local. Cell meetings are held weekly and the day and time for meeting is decided by the members of the cell at their own discretion. The maximum meeting time is one (1) hour. Aside cell meetings, the cell lives as a family thus, leaders are mandated to oversee the welfare of the members and also to ensure that, members have effective relationships with each other

To promote self-development and ingenuity in members in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, counselling and service to the union and the mother church, cell leaders are selected from the members of the union. Weekly meetings are organized for cell leaders to equip them with the necessary tools required for their ministry as shepherds. The vision of the union is therefore effectively communicated through the cell leaders. We have been assigned by the chief shepherd which is our Lord Jesus to feed his flock and ensure that none lack in things pertaining to the kingdom. The office of the cell leader is therefore not limited to a group of people but rather, open to every member of the church. GHAMSU-KNUST Cell leaders meets every Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at the Kotei Methodist basement. Our greeting is “Good Shepherd…” and the response is “I lay down my life for the sheep.”
